That's right, Mason headed out for his third round trip last week - he is a traveling fool! He did fabulous on the flights -- even managing to keep fairly entertained in the small space. I owe a lot of thanks (again) to the many passengers that helped entertain him! I can also say I got smarter this time around: a purse that zipped closed, a backpack instead of roller carry-on luggage, and a carrier to strap him to me instead of free-handing it. We were one sweet package all bundled together, if I do say so myself. Thank heavens for lessons learned.
While in TN staying at my parents house, Mason enjoyed looking out the french doors and attacking the gnome. He also was introduced to the wonderful world of pickles and sucked on a few over the course of the trip. Here is a cute picture of him munching on some watermelon... which he adores. Mmm mmm mmm. :) And here is a picture of my parent's house as it is being transformed into a delightful yellow paradise - I love it, it is so HAPPY! (note the crazy black clouds rolling in... I forgot what real storms were like!). Mason also got to see Auntie Mary and Mom Haggard -- and posed for a photo shoot with Mom. Another post with those pictures will be coming!
Not only were we in TN but we also went to Ohio! We got to see lots of Grandparents & Great Grandparents and had a great time with them! Mason had never met Great Grandpa Thomas (and I hadn't seen him for 4 years! whoa!) and really enjoyed being at his house for a few days. He also met lots of Great Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins - lots of new faces. I think Aunt Jean almost took him home with her ;) We miss you guys already! Included is a cute shot of the kiddo at the park across the street from Grandpa Thomas' place. *Note: it was reconfirmed that no one can make him laugh like Pop Pop can... its the best thing to watch.
We went to my cousin's wedding while in Ohio and lets just say that they threw the party of the year (decade? century?)! Christie looked beautiful and Dan was a doll and the ceremony was
beautiful. The reception was hopping -- and the food? Oh my goodness. De-lish. I chose beef for my dish and received the most delectable filet mignon. They also had cool individual wedding cakes on each table. Unfortunately, I was a TERRIBLE photographer and this is the only picture I have to share besides awkward crowd/group pictures...haha. Ridiculous. Oh well. I will have to steal some from my cousins on facebook. :) Thank you to Uncle Dave, Aunt Barb & fam for watching Mason that night!
It was another great, crazy, fun, busy trip!
Matt had his first Father's day this year and in relation to this quote I think I should call it his first Dad's day! He is truly a wonderful father and Mason and I are lucky to have him. Not only does he allow me to be home with our little boy, but he loves, cares for, and cherishes Mason. He is one of the busiest people I know and yet he continues on and manages to prioritize and handle it all so well. He is amazing! Some of my sweetest memories of late are seeing Mason and Matt together -- the tender moments that make me so grateful to Heavenly Father for the many blessings in my life.
