Just Married!

...or atleast it feels like we were just married. Hard to believe that 4 years ago today we tied the knot! Not just any knot - one that lasts for time and all eternity! We are so grateful for the blessings of the Temple and that we chose and lived worthy to be married there. Not only can we be together for eternity if we live worthy of that blessing, but we will also have Mason & all future children with us too! I am pretty sure we never would have guessed on our wedding day where we would be today and I am certain the future holds much more in store for us. I am so lucky to have married my best friend and I really do look forward to spending the rest of my life (and beyond ;) with him.
Happy Anniversary babe!

Having fun at the reception... and years later we're still having fun!

First Dip

I am a fish. Ahhh, I LOVE water! Seriously love love love it. My parents tell me that as a toddler I would go running to any body of water without a second thought. They had to teach me how to swim really early on because of it - my Mom taught me and I'd teach my cabbage patch doll (who's head fell off from too much chlorine/sun exposure). I grew up swimming all the time thanks to living in Florida and having a pool and still do it any chance I get!

A few months ago I bought a pass for the local water park here and have been looking forward to opening... and hoped Mason would play along with his fish-mother. Well, thanks to Auntie Ellie, Mason got his first dip in the pool on Monday. Not only did he look pretty cute in his new duds (thanks Granny Kay!) but he also enjoyed it! Hooray!

Perfect Park Reunion

The day couldn't have been better -- 70 and sunny and spent with good friends! I got together Friday with some ladies from my days at Spinal Interventions - it was so much fun to just relax on the grass and chat - we definitely need to do it again soon!

We <3 bathtime

Rub-a-dub-dub!

Mason has always enjoyed his bath, but it is getting more and more fun as he plays with toys and sits up well on his own. Here are a few snapshots from tonights bath!

Where the antelope and chipmunks roam free

We went to Wyoming this past weekend for a long overdue trip. It had been a while since we had gone up to visit Matt's grandparents - we hadn't even taken Mason up there yet! We spent our time visiting, eating (of course), working on Matt's Dad's truck he is going to restore, cooking out for mother's day, and making my usual stops in town -- the bookstore and chocolate shop. Unfortunately Hannah Montana was playing at the theatre, so we didn't hit up a movie while we were there. :) Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

Cooking out!
Mason is chompin on some watermelon in that feeder - yummmm!

Possibly the best part - a whole field of little lambs! SO PRECIOUS!

Crawling and other milestones!

Before bed tonight (hence the sleeper), I FINALLY got a good video of Mason crawling! Don't judge me for encouraging my kid to get my dirty flip flops, but shoes and other "non-toys" are the best incentives :) He doesn't crawl for the 'fun' of it just yet- he has to have a mission (sitting up is his favorite activity at the moment). I am sure crawling will be the next hobby any day now... ah! Matt is actually installing a babygate upstairs as I type. Also, we lowered his crib today (little late on getting that done) - he is already getting on his knees and pulling up on things so we were about to be in trouble if we waited a second longer.

One more note: we have our first tooth! A blister appeared on Thursday and a sharp point was felt on Friday and as of Saturday we have a whole ridge of tooth slowly emerging. Let the fun begin!

Its been an eventful week... he is changing so fast! Where did my infant go?

Like father like son

Just another casual evening, reading the paper together...

P.S. Mason officially crawled last night! Video will be coming...

6 months already!

Seriously, time has flown!

Mason had his 6 month doctor's appointment on Friday and took his shots like a champ... except for 5 hours later when he suddenly reacted to them. We were sitting in Red Robin when he spontaneously went from smiling to wailing - out of the blue -and continued to do so for 50 minutes. He got a quick 102.5 temperature and wouldn't be consoled by anything. Yikes! Luckily he was back to himself within 24 hours, but it was not a fun time, poor guy! I am so grateful for my regular happy, smiling babe. Anyone else had their baby react to one set of shots but not another?

Here are his stats: 14 lbs 12 oz & 27 1/2 inches. Still our little, long peanut! I am pretty sure he lost a little weight this past week since getting his very first cold (hes hardly been eating anything)...we're talking like 1/2-3/4 of a lb. haha But hey, every 1/2 lb counts right now, right? As of tonight he is starting to eat more again (though we're still at 1/2 the amount of food he was eating) - and he is LOVING butternut squash.

As far as his recent happenings... he is sitting up really well and can even get to sitting on his own. He scoots/creeps/lunges anywhere he wants to go and gets there - no more sitting him on a blanket and expecting him to still be there if I leave the room for a sec! He is 2 seconds away from full-on crawling - heaven help me! He is an active little dude and will definitely give me a run for my money. He has had sweet potato and squash so far and will be getting some carrot this week... yum yum. We're at the stage where he loves everything that isn't an actual 'toy' -- like, shoes, magazines, any paper, furniture, etc. He has also started getting sooooo excited whenever he sees his Daddy! Today when Matt came home from meetings after church Mason's face lit up and he started squealing in delight! I love it!

If there is paper to be crumpled, he will find it... glad the Doc didn't mind :)

And here is a short video of some of his "moves" -
this is from a little over a week ago, so his skills are evloving, but you get the idea!
