Parade of Homes 2010

...touring 'spectacular' homes and this is the only picture I post...

... this would be in part because I was a terrible picture taker, but also because the parade was somewhat terrible! Mind you, we didn't go to every home, but of the 6-8 we did see, I was impressed by maybe 3. In fact, some of the homes made me downright confused about why they were even in the parade. I understand we're in hard economic times, but really? Lets just say I was glad we didn't pay for our tickets! (one of Matt's customers hooked us up)

Honestly though, the best house was this huge mansion that Matt's favorite custom home builder did -- a 2 million dollar home (more like castle) he completed to perfection in 10 months. He is a good guy and excellent builder - so, if you want to build in Utah, there is your man (and he doesn't just do 2 million dollar homes...). In fact, I will even include the link to his WEBSITE.

Second best - more like overall coolest - was this super modern/contemporary/industrial home that seemed to be straight from some movie. Tons of recaptured materials from all over the place (including wood from an opera house in Illinois that was built in the 1800s used for the upstairs floor) and lots and lots of random features (clear glass bathroom counter top with random metal shavings/pieces displayed under it...). The knife holder comes from that home :)

Here is to future years...

"Why yes officer, that is my new address..."

Matt is a good citizen and has been concerned that we had not updated our address for our drivers licenses... so, I figured out where you can do it online and he filled out the form... at the end of the process this is the message you receive:

"Your address change will be updated in our records within 48 hours. Please make sure you write your new address on the back of your license using a piece of tape or an address label."

A piece of tape or address label? Just slap a piece of scotch tape with your new address on it on the back of your license? Talk about classy! Would that really look legit? Huh...

Rodeo: 'tis summertime!

We hit our first rodeo of the season this week & took our little buckaroo with us! Nothing like a night of mutton busting & strawberries and cream - oh yeah, and some other rodeo stuff :) We'll be looking forward to trying to hit one or two more before Lincoln arrives!

32 weeks!

Well my oh my, another month has already passed and here we are at a ripe 32 weeks. I have my next doctor's appointment tomorrow - but at last month's appointment everything was measuring right on and I passed my glucose and iron tests with flying colors.

Thanks to a summer cold virus and the late hour at which we took this picture (because if I didnt do it tonight, I'd put it off yet ANOTHER day... and another...) , I have doctored the picture to save you from having to see my exhausted face :) -because I was too tired to take another one-

My bed is anxiously calling my name.

....here is the baby bump!

Update

Since I last posted....

I got the stomach virus Mason had... it effected me differently and lasted longer. Not fun!

We moved into our new rental! ...the guys managed to get our mattress out of the basement... it was quite the feat! MUCH THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO HELPED US MOVE!

Our two new babies arrived.... aka, our washer & dryer. I am still figuring out what all the buttons do.

We celebrated Memorial Day somewhat low-key (due to moving & me still feeling sick) but had a good day. We enjoyed a morning saunter, time in our new kiddie pool, watermelon, a bike ride (just Mason and Dad), getting settled into the new place, ordering Mason's new crib (his crib was recalled), and we even took a walk in the beautiful Provo Cemetery.

Matt managed to also get the stomach virus and was violently ill for half a day... he got a 4 day weekend without planning it. Hopefully that is over!!

What a wild last week of May!
