I turned the big 2-8 this year, woohoo (bring on the even numbers)! Matt took me out for sushi (nom nom nom) Friday night and my birth-day was spent with a household of sickness (minus Matt). The poor boys caught something fierce and I think my pesky allergies turned into a sinus infection or something. We all started antibiotics the next day and I expect we should all be doing better by tomorrow (whew). I did enjoy my birthday though - counting my blessings (namely these sweet little boys I get to spend my days with - and my hunk with whom I spend my evenings/weekends) and enjoying many happy birthday wishes from family and friends! Matt and I got to grab a bite to eat for dinner and then returned to have cake and ice cream with the boys and my parents. And yes, my cake looks like it is on fire because Matt put all 28 candles on there!

On a Train
While in Nashville at a store, we stepped out to find a BIG CSX train hanging out on the tracks that ran long the parking lot. My Dad took Mason over to see it up close aaaaaaand... the engineer saw them and invited them on board! Mason was a little afraid inside (big, loud, dark...), but we were all pretty tickled! Pretty cool :)

Living Room Reveal (+kitchen window)
There is nothing quite like a company-deadline to make you decide to complete some projects! Unfortunately I have way too many to complete them all in time, but painting windows was a worthy goal! So, this brings me to this post: it is high-time to show a snapshot of the front room.
Work completed: new carpet, some new drywall due to a previous leak in the roof, new baseboards, new crown molding, painted ceiling, painted walls, new front door, removed wallpaper, painted window, tiled an entryway. And supposedly the ceiling fan we bought a year ago might be installed sometime soon :)AND... check out the painted-window in the kitchen! Huge difference! I now have 4 windows down, only 3 more to go (in the boys' bedrooms... wish me luck!).

Easter 2012
Although we attended several Easter egg hunts this year, I really want to emphasize the true celebration of Easter: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! We know that because He rose that third day we will ALL rise. Although death separates us for a time, death has no victory. What glorious news! I know He lives and I know He LOVES us.
We enjoyed a wonderful Easter that included sharing this message with our children, a great church service, and lots and lots of family time! We buzzed around to three different homes to spend time with loved ones and it was awesome. The boys were wired and pooped by the end of the day but had a great time! Lincoln even managed to fall into my Moms fish pond at the end of the day... we were all with him when it happened, thank goodness.
Happy Easter everyone!!!
