CEREAL!

Friday afternoon Mason was laying on his tummy and Matt issued a challenge: roll over and you can have cereal.
(his reaction to the challenge)
To our astonishment, he rolled! (this is the third time he has rolled off his stomach in a month -- since learning to roll off his back he has completely given up rolling the other direction). So, we followed through on our promise and he got his cereal! He is still learning the art of eating off a spoon, but he definitely liked it! His mouth opened like a little bird every time!

Oldie but goodie

The story: Matt had a big paper due about redesigning the palace of Versailles one semester and we went on trip to Tennessee. He ended up writing the paper on the airplane at night - really quickly and perhaps haphazardly (you know how it goes). He turned it in the next day and got it back from the professor later that week. There was only one comment on the paper ---

I hope you can read it (I had a hard time getting it to be bigger!) ...

Erotic, exotic - potato, potatoh -- what is the difference? hahahahaa
He still got a good grade.

I've got a few million laying around, why not?

We saw this in the newspaper last night --- if the auction weren't on Sunday I think I'd go bid on Picasso, Monet, Cezanne, the 19 Ct tanzanite solitaire, the 60 CT sapphire and diamond necklance, or maybe a few of the canary diamonds -- for starters. I mean, what!? We really wish it weren't on Sunday bc it would just be fun to be there! WOW!

First, the progression of the room.....

So, I realize I should have blogged this a long time ago - actually, it is more like I should have had the room completely put together a long time ago. haha Anyway, here are pictures of Mason's room - without further adieu!

Walking in the room...

My stripes... that ended up a little strange. I created an optical illusion! Not sure if the picture shows it well, but the stripes are blue and green -- the same green that the other three walls are... but the stripes look beige. Oh Well!

The wall words! Courtesy of Mom & her new Cricut. They were the finishing touch.

There you have it! This room was a labor of love -- it all came together thanks to MANY people! I can't even name it all but so much of the room is thanks to gifts and the craftiness of others -- my mom made the valance while she was here when Mason was born, Katie made the awesome modge podge letters (you should see an up close picture, SO cute!), the cross stitch on the wall is complements of Mom Haggard, and on and on! I love the room and enjoy spending time in it with Mason - I feel blessed to have such a great space that reminds me of so many people I love!

Balding

When I was 3 months post-partum, I figured I must have escaped it. Then it started. And still hasn't stopped! Post-partum alopecia - I am losing hair! In large quantities! I have already warned Matt repeatedly that he needs to clean out the shower drain before disaster strikes. I find it everywhere -- all over me when I wake up in the morning, on Mason, in his crib, all over the bathroom - I am now vacuuming constantly not because we have a cat, but because I am shedding! When is it going to stop??? I keep expecting to look bald one morning, but apparently my hair got pretty thick during the pregnancy. Whew!

Share the Love!

It took some courage to dive in to this, but here we go...

The first five people to make a comment on this post will receive a free homemade gift from me sometime in the next couple of months. The catch is that you in turn must share the love and make a similar post on your blog. If I can do it, you can do it! I am not the most crafty person, but who doesn't love a package? Just remember to continue this love chain on your blog.

We'll see if 5 people sign up :)

4 months!

Mason turned four months on Thursday and went to the doctor on Friday for his checkup. The doctor said he looks great! We are weighing in at a hefty 13 lbs 1 oz and 25 inches long (although, when I took him in to the doctor a few weeks ago, they said he was 25.5 inches... shrinking? Matt has decided he is going to measure Mason himself. ha). He handled his shots like a champ - cried for less than a minute! Here is a picture of he and Dad waiting for the doctor to come (chomping on his toes) --

When we told our doc he is rolling both directions she was surprised -- she said she doesn't ask about rolling until the 6 month appointment. I know it is silly, particularly since it pretty much has nothing to do with anything we did, but it still makes you feel proud :) Anyhoo, in our spare time we're teaching him such things as how to use rolling to get toys and... mancala. Seems age appropriate, right?

Happy March everyone!
