When did he grow up?

I picked up a snazzy (pronounced sch-nazzy) suction cup bowl for Mason and put it to use this morning - he chowed on some yogurt and peaches sans Mommy. What a big boy! Is it OK to get nostalgic when he is only 15 1/2 months?

Fun w/the Youth

Matt had a blast the other weekend when he went up to a camp near Heber and camped (in cabins) w/the Young Men and Young Women from church. They played in the snow almost the entire time and luckily no one froze! Here are some pictures from the fun:

15 Months

Little bug is 15 months today! At the doctor last week he was a sturdy 21.4 lbs and 31 inches long.

Some recent goings-on (mostly for my record-keeping):
chatting away/being quite vocal - we may not understand, but I am certain he knows what he is saying
eating like a champ - and we recently discovered he LOVES meatloaf
getting all four molars - 1.5 down, 2 .5 to go
going 100 mph as usual - he rarely 'walks' anywhere
loving to dance to any music, anytime, anywhere
opening doors - we have lever handles and he opens them like a champ now... luckily the front and back doors aren't levers
flirting with all the college girls at the grocery stores
not really climbing *yet* - I know it is coming, I'm enjoying life as I now know it
playing ring around the rosy and other games
loving straws
taking 2 naps still - we had a close call and I thought he wanted only one, but it was a fluke
learning his body parts - he has nose, mouth, and ear pretty well, we're working on eyes & belly
learning the skill of using utensils (mommy might be a little late relinquishing this skill...)
giving love - he gives kisses and hugs and also blows kisses... and we love it

...growing and changing by the minute!

Little early, who cares?

I realize it may seem a little early to be going for the Valentines theme. But, every time I went to our blog for something I saw those snowflakes and had a firm reminder of the bleak mid-winter we're currently facing. I thought a little XOXO would jazz things up nicely... and hey, it's less than a month away!
Spread the love!

1st Place

After a casual comment from Carly about entering this picture into a contest - and happening to be told by the Walgreens photo lab they were having a "winter photo contest" - it's official, we've got the cutest kid. If you don't believe me, I've got a $20 Walgreens gift card to prove it. haha
Congrats Mason - 1st Place!

We ARE Back!

Laundry, dishes, and various other items to get done... and here I am, blogging! I have my priorities straight. I am facing the fact that it is Jan 12th and I still haven't blogged about Christmas. Ack! Here we go...

Many of these pictures deserve their own posts and deserve to not be in a collage -- but, for the sake of space and time, this will be the cliff notes version of our trip to TN. A real cliff notes version - w/all cameras accounted for, we had something like 800 pictures! My CD of pictures got left behind in TN, so I am just drawing from what I had personally...

Christmas was a blast - full of TONS of family, which is what the holidays are all about! We had 13 (count it, 13!) stockings on the mantle at my parent's house -- my brother Joel & his family came as well as my Grandma and her sister - it was a house full and it made the trip!! It was so wonderful to be together and we're all looking forward to more holidays spent this way.

Below: Mason's first carousel ride (a look or terror/confusion while moving, look of glee when it was stopped), Matt reenacting a scene from Elf, the Worthams together at the potluck, Grandaddy playing with Mase.

My heart be still! What a hunk, right?

Our wee family -- this was taken in Opryland at the spot where Matt proposed, 5 years prior. Time flies!

Below: More carousel fun w/the kids (see Kenszie w/a HUGE smile on the right?), Mase spending time w/Uncle Chip, traditional breakfast at the Worthams, and opening more presents w/Grandma & Grandpa Spann.

Uncle Virgil w/Grandaddy, Grandpa Spann sharing his luxurious Harry & David pear w/Mason, the Boys, and Mom & Gram (love these pictures!)!
