C-r-U-i-S-i-N-g!

Here is a new, improved video of Mason's new mode of transportation - walking (and standing up unassisted)! In the past two weeks he has moved from wobbling across a room to cruising down the sidewalk. We're proud of him!
P.S. he has a rock in his hand

Cowboy Country

Since Matt's parents were in town (they moved back to TN but are out in Wyoming for the next few weeks) and we also wanted to see his Grandparents, we headed up to Wyoming for a weekend jaunt! We headed out Friday afternoon and Ellie came with us to experience the wilderness. Matt's grandparents are outfitters so he went up to camp to help set up (hunting camp starts Sept 10th) on Saturday and Ellie, Mason, and I went to town to check out the shops and headed up the canyon into Bridger National Forest for a bit (picture on right). Saturday night Mason spent quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Spann and the three of us headed to Jackson Hole! The Jensens only live about 45 minutes from Jackson, but Matt and I had never gone! The town is super fun and we even drove on a little past town to get a quick glimpse of the Tetons - which, btw, are breathtaking and barbaric looking. Amazing!

Matt with a buffalo and the Tetons: they're amazing! The picture does them absolutely no justice.

Here is a quick video of Matt and I dancing around in the Silver Dollar Bar in Jackson-- after Ellie and Matt had Buffalo Burgers and I had an Elk Gyro. Yummmm! Get this: we sat down, the waitress walked up, looked at the three of us, and requested IDs from Ellie and me... before we ever ordered... Matt has the biggest baby face and she didn't ask to see his license?? Linda's response was, "welcome to cowboy country."
P.S. As you can maybe tell, we remember nothing from our country dance class we took at BYU... probably selective memory, since we almost broke off our engagement bc we bickered so much in that class. haahaha We've never taken a dance class since. And never argued so much since. Most people say dance classes bring couples together: not us! We'll just keep bobbing around the dancefloor blissfully :)

10 Months

First steps were taken in the 9th month and now we're full-on walking! In fact, that is all he wants to do lately - walk laps around the house. Also, as of Friday he is getting up to standing without any assistance (he doesnt even use his hands? he just... pops up!) and is completely scaling the stairs (eeek!). He has 4 teeth at present and is being a trooper about them. This kid is so much fun and such a great baby... can I call him a baby still? Bottom line: he gets more fun by the day and continues to bring us so much joy!

The many faces of Mase... a fun new skill he has developed!

*Gasp* How could I forget???

So, I spaced it about more pictures I had on my camera...

I got to see Manda while I was in Florida!!! It was so wonderful to see her and hope it won't be long until we're together again! The next time we see her she will be Mrs. Wills and we are so happy for her!

First Steps

Mason took his first "steps" (from Mom to Dad) last week and today I decided to try to get some on camera. The couch isnt quite as cool as Dad, but he performed anyway :)
He is growing waaaaaaay too quickly!

Friends

I make a lot of friends while we're out shopping nowadays... I think you can see why...
(this cute face + his flirty self=unstoppable)

Who needs a fire?

We made a fire in a grill behind our condo on Friday night and roasted weenies and smores with some friends (SO FUN!)... Saturday night the smore fixins were calling my name so we opted for the indoor version (thanks for planting the idea, Laura).... who needs a fire? Puh, these things were de-lish! Mmmmmmm.
